
How to Dissolve Negative
Emotions in Seconds

Start by making a list of 10 events where you felt an emotion. While this works with any emotion,
I recommend some variety of the emotions we generally consider negative–
Anger
Fear
Pain
Guilt
Shame
If you want, you can also do this with so-called 'positive' emotions as well–
Joy
Passion
Love
Now, rank the intensity of the feeling in each event from 1-10.
The first few times you practice the technique, use events you ranked from 1-3. Once you've had some success, move on to events you ranked 4-6. Finally, when you feel ready, tackle the events you ranked 7-10.
Start by doing 2-3 per day. You can do this at night, before going to bed. At first, you can expect it to be challenging. You can expect it not to work very well. Keep going. Once you start to have some success, you'll have more and more and it will become easier.
Once you get the hang of it, start using the technique throughout the day, in the moment an event comes up.
